Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Gentle Day Cream SPF 15 review

When you read a word gentle on packaging of a day cream you get thoughts…. thoughts like ‘Woohoo I finally found a product for my baby soft skin that will actually do no harm’. Then you go in a dancing mood because you know from that moment you will be having less chemicals on your face. Is that what gentle creams stand for ‘ LESS Chemicals ? ‘ Hmm I wish I had an answer, but no worries we’ll find out –

My Experience ?

I do change my skincare regime according to season and my skincare needs. When I got a bad case of adult acne 4 months back I did try lot of products to improve my skin condition. I had to work really very hard to reach back to my clear skin and that’s why gentle products are my weakness these days.

Lets start this review with some packaging details. Olay 7 in 1 day cream bottle comes with a pump dispenser and a plastic cap. The packaging is very hygienic & travel friendly – full marks for that. The pump dispenses exact amount of product that is required to cover entire face & neck. Also you can easily lessen the amount of product to be pushed out.

This gentle anti aging cream wears well under my foundation or BB cream. It is really so smooth and gentle that sometimes I skip primer since I love the way my foundation glides on my skin. But the only problem I’ve is that – if I use too much product my face gets oily. Also I can skip sunscreen sometimes because it has enough spf protection (spf 15). I like the mild and fresh fragrance it has, strong aroma in day creams is a huge turn off. I don’t want my face to smell like a candle or a perfume bottle.

The texture is remarkably lightweight that sinks into the skin in a matter of seconds. I do still get oily throughout the day but not as much as before. A little blotting with a tissue or powder can fix that problem. There are some product which make me say this to myself – ‘How on earth have I never tried this product before?’. Olay gentle is one of them !

Most of the times I’ve disdained putting moisturizer on my already greasy face because it makes my skin look oily and shiny even after deep cleansing. I mostly go for mattifying day creams or sunscreens. But at the same time, if you don’t use a good day cream the skin produces more oil, leading to breakouts. I’m elated to say that this cream moisturizes without a trace of greasiness (if you don’t put excess). My face just looks hydrated and feels soft. My skin behaves nicely throughout the day and my foundation still looks good after eight hours wear. And no breakouts! A gentle but wonderful product !
