My Experience:

Hi everyone. Today I am reviewing a makeup tool from RT brand that one of my friends picked for me during her last US visit. Now Real Techniques is quite easily available online in India too but the price difference is huge. I grabbed mine for some 5$ from there while here it costs 1000 INR or more. Any ways I have been using this makeup sponge from the last 3 months and here is my review on it for you all.

RT miracle sponge is basically a makeup tool that helps you to apply your foundation and concealer seamlessly. I am not much of a concealer person so I use this sponge to apply my foundation. I have used it both for liquid and cream foundation and yes, it fulfils its claims and helps to blend in the foundation easily giving a smoother look.

The sponge has a unique shape and all its sides/ends can be helpful for makeup application. I mostly use the flat edge to apply my cream foundation and the precision tip to cover smaller areas like corners of the eye and around the nose. It can be used wet/dry depending on your choice or foundation type. I prefer it dry when applying liquid foundation and wet when using cream foundation.

This sponge works best with my Kryolan Paint stick foundation. I spray a small amount of rose water on the flat side of this sponge and start blending in my cream foundation with it and the results are amazing. The foundation blends in seamlessly and I am able to apply the foundation in every small corner of the face 😛 using the sponge tip. I haven’t noticed any product (foundation) wastage or over usage of my foundation. I really feel comfortable using it than applying that cream foundation with my fingers.

Apart from this, heavy coverage foundation like my NYX HD foundation also gets applied easily and doesn’t look cakey if I blend it in using this RT sponge.

But now comes the cleaning part of this sponge. The miracle sponge easily gets stained after 2 uses itself. I rely on a mild baby shampoo for cleaning it. I have washed it exactly thrice till now and it clearly shows signs of wearing out. So I won’t call it a durable or long lasting (in terms of usage) product. But as it stains easily so washing it becomes a necessity too. I have to struggle a bit too while cleaning all stains off the sponge. A proper brush cleanser would surely solve this problem if you are ready to invest in that too.

What I like 🙂

  • Ease of use
  • Does the job effortlessly
  • Does not drink/eat up the product
  • Like the unique shape of the sponge that helps to reach every nook of the face.
  • Easily available now
  • Can be used wet/dry
  • Versatile as can be used to apply foundation/concealer/cream blush even.
  • Not at all harsh on the skin.

What I dislike 🙁

  • Gets stained after 2 uses.
  • Delicate so a little bit of roughness shown while cleaning it may cause it to wear off.
  • A bit difficult to clean it, to remove all the stains.

Final Verdict : Not comparing it to any other high end blender sponge, I can safely recommend it to everyone who wants a quick and easy way of applying cream/liquid foundation. The ease of use and by not shelling out a lot on this complexion sponge surely makes it a good makeup tool in your vanity.
