Lakme 9 to 5 CC Color Transform Cream Review, Swatches and FOTD

Hello my sweet cupcakes ! How are you all ?

CC creams have never been more popular; we seem to crave not only for their formula, but the way it makes your makeup routine much much easier. Lakme CC cream has gradually become one of those beauty products with almost cult-like status amongst its dedicated consumers, as word of mouth recommendations help to spread the message that this product really knows your skin. Lakme’s newly launched 9 to 5 CC color transform cream encapsulates that completely.

We girls always strive to achieve a no-makeup look which would give us flawless complexion, hide imperfection but without looking made-up(you know those tricks, right?) 🙂 . Nowadays, makeup has been revolutionized and various brands have come up with an array of products to suit the daily needs more efficiently. Lakme already had the original CC cream and recently they launched a better counter part of it, known as the “Lakme 9 to 5 CC Color Transform Cream”. CC stands for Color Control or Color Correcting and this cream will basically transform from a cream to base makeup that adapts to your skin-tone.

Read on to know more about this magical color changing CC cream.

My Experience

Packaging – The cream falls under the category of the “9 to 5” range of products having the beige touch to its packaging. It is housed inside a fuchsia pink cardboard box and further encased in a slender tube with rose gold cap. The tube is sturdy enough to travel with and very easy to store anywhere. It is also lightweight and fuss free as well. Overall, the packaging is appealing to the eyes and the dispenser disposes the right amount of product.

Shade – The Lakme 9 to 5 CC Color Transform Cream is available in 2 shades – beige and bronze. Now, the beige is for fair to medium skin tones while the shade bronze is for medium deep to deeper skin tones. Whenever a base product is launched, the main concern is the shade range because Indian skin tones vary from fair to deep. However, this cream is something different. It has the tendency to adapt to the skin color as much as possible. This is true that some skin tones might find a color light or dark but nothing that you can’t fix with a powder on top to balance out the look. Thus, the shade selection won’t be much of an issue in this regard.

Texture & Formula – The product has the medium thick creamy consistency. It literally feels like butter and blends very well into the skin even though it has small beads in it. Basically the small beads break and mix into the cream transforming the white cream into a CC cream. The texture is extremely smooth and won’t cling onto the patches of the skin. It feels really light & good on the skin, one of those creams that won’t clog pores at all. It lets the skin breathe on its own. I’ve been using this CC cream for over a month now and never experienced breakouts. Also, the product has a pleasant aroma with small fruity touch to it. Overall, it is very refreshing.

Coverage – The coverage is sheer to buildable. It gives a nice layer of makeup to the skin and makes it look as far as flawless without being artificial. It does cover up the minor pigmentation or blemishes but for dark spots you would surely need a concealer underneath. It has potential to brighten up the skin instantly and would make you look good even for dally wear basis. I’m totally obsessed with the finish it gives on my skin, my skin looks so natural and I can totally fake a no makeup look with this product. 😉

Finish and Oxidation – The cream has a soft satin matte finish which would work great for oily to combination skin. For dry skin, you would a good moisturizer underneath and then it would work pretty well. It does takes a little time in blending onto the skin and then it happily adapt to the skin color and gives a seamless look for a long time. It will hydrate the skin yet will not make you look oily or drag down. Initially, when you blend it, it will look whitish but you need to give it a 30 seconds to completely adapt to your skin tone. But, the color, once transforms and adapts to the skin, will not oxidize with time and make you look dark. This is one of the best quality for any base makeup. the product has the goodness of SPF 30++ which is great for tropical Indian climate.

Longevity – The Lakme 9 to 5 CC Color Transform Cream stays for around 5hours and then a slight touch is required to make the skin a bit fresh. However, it is not oily but still the skin will need some blotting during the hot and humid weather. The removal is very easy and comes off with any good makeup remover. The price point is good for a daily wear cream and as well as for an innovative concept.
