Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Desert Rose: Review, LOTD and Swatches

(Author ~ Sanchita)

Hello everyone.

Few months back, I tried out the Chambor Extreme Wear Liquid Transfer-proof Lipstick and really loved the formula as well as the color. I wanted to try out the much-raved Desert Rose from their collection and finally ordered it online. Needlessly to say, I am really impressed. I have heard that Chambor has some really good lipstick collection and I believe I really should try out more colors form the brand as well as the range. Today, let us see how this lipstick has fared with me.

PRICE – Rs. 645 for 4.5g

Packaging – The Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick comes encased inside a dark bluish cardboard box with every detail about the product mentioned. The lipstick has dark sleek blackish blue structure with the rose symbol of Chambor printed on top. There is silver wrapping on the lower portion and the shade name and number written on the bottom. The lipstick has the regular twist up function and looks extremely elegant and pretty. Overall, the packaging is sturdy, beautiful and effective.

Shade – The shade ‘Desert Rose’ is muted neutral pink with a slight hint of warm brown undertone. The color may wash off deeper skin tones but is a lovely one for the fair to medium olive Indian skin tones. On my NC40 skin tone, it comes off as a very natural rosy pink color, absolutely natural. It makes it look like I have natural pink lips. However it doesn’t wash me out at all. On pale to fair skin tones, it will be more of a neutral pinkish color. Although this time of the year is for those dark plum berry kind of lip color, I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying this MLBB pink color throughout the daytime. When the color is paired with a dark eye makeup, it looks stunning. The color is a must have in your kitty.

Pigmentation – Despite being a light MLBB color, the pigmentation is great. With a single swipe you get most of the pigmentation while the second layer seals off the pigmented lips and gives a nice opaque layer to the lips. The color is best applied directly from the tube rather than using a brush.

Texture – The lipstick falls under the ‘Powder Matte’ range. It has a very soft texture that glides on the lips like a dream. There is no tugging or pulling on the lips at all. Since it is a matte kind of a lipstick, it is better to exfoliate and remove the dry layers. However, you don’t need a lip balm underneath. The lipstick is formulated with Vitamin A and Jojoba Oil that nourishes as well. It also has an anti-ageing formula which softens and smoothens the lips with the presence of Vitamin E. I have used powder matte formula before (Lakme 9to5) and I have seen that it dries out the lips with the passage of time. But the Chambor one doesn’t dry out the lips at all. Thus, it is very comfortable for dry lips even in winter.

Finish – The finish is exactly what it says – powder matte. It gives a soft matte finish but nothing parched as hell. It doesn’t accentuate on fine lines, even after long wear. It neither bleeds nor feather at all but transfer slightly due to the slight nourishment. The lipstick is also formulated with SPF15 and protects from UVA & UVB rays.

Staying power – The staying power of the lipstick is around 4-5hrs which is pretty good. The lipstick fades off slightly from the middle while eating and depends a lot on the consumption of food and fluid. It is a great color as well as quality for the price tag.

OVERALL – Thus, Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick Desert Rose is muted rosy pink color with a creamy soft texture, great pigmentation and powder matte finish that stays for a long time on the lisp without being dry and uncomfortable.
